TOUR THE GREAT LAND

Fairbanks, Denali National Park, Talkeetna, Anchorage and the Kenai Fjords

Plus the YUKON

Organised tours

Most cruiselines that feature one way cruises between Vancouver and Seward or Whittier have their own selection of Alaska Denali tours with variations in duration and content

Our preferred choice is to use Holland America Line as they have more tour options than any other and also have exclusivity in the Yukon. They also own their own hotels, railcars and coaches and are one of the largest employers in the State

In your planning, always try to include Fairbanks for 2 nights, with a similar amount of time in Denali National Park. Some tours include Denali State Park - this is not the same as the National Park. If you get Talkeetna featured, so much the better, albeit the number of tours going here are few and far between.

An overnight stay in Anchorage suffices for most, but even 2 nights here will give you enough to do.

The options of getting from Anchorage to Seward are by coach or train. The train is longer but far more scenic and an overnight stay in Seward is always to be recommended. Some ships depart from Whittier, a shorter transfer from Anchorage. However, Whittier does not have much to offer at all. Seward is far better, giving you the opportunity to visit the stunning Kenai Fjords

You can consider other cruiseline operated tours with Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean, NCL,
Regent, Seabourn and Silversea

Longer Alaska Land tour

If you really want to see more of Alaska in-depth and experience the Yukon, look no further than our recommended Globus tour. With selected departure dates throughout the summer of 2026, this 12 day escorted tour featuring overnight stays in Anchorage, Whitehorse and Dawson City, plus 2 night stays in both Fairbanks and Denali, with visits to Prince William Sound, Tok, the untouched Kluane Lake and the Wrangell-St Elias National Park

Independent touring

We also operate our own independent tour featuring the Goldstar service of the Alaska Railroad. We start in Fairbanks with a 2 night stay and include a sternwheeler excursion on the Chena and Tanana rivers

We then take you by train to Denali National Park with a 2 night stay at the Denali Bluffs hotel with a full day Tundra Wilderness excursion included into the park. You will rejoin the train to head forTalkeetna, the nearest community to majestic Mount McKinley, overnight stay at the Talkeetnan Alaska Lodge

After taking the train to Anchorage and an overnight stay, you then join the Coast Classic train to Seward, Overnight at the Windsong Lodge. Prior to joining your cruise you will have a 6 hour excursion into the Kenai Fjords

This 7 night tour operates between May and September and is perfect to combine with Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Silversea and others
